Biography:

Nadia Buari (born November 21, 1982) is a pretty good Ghanaian actress. Nadia Buari is the daughter of Sidiku Buari, a Ghanaian musician. Nadia studied Performing Arts at the University of Ghana, Legon and graduated with a BFA degree in Fine Arts.

Career:

Nadia Buari premiered on Ghanaian national television with the TV series Games People Play in late 2005. Her first major film was Mummy’s Daughter, after which she starred in Beyonce: The President’s Daughter. Her role as Beyonce was her major breakthrough. She has starred in over 20 movies.

Jackie Appiah Agyemang popularly known as Jackie Appiah was born on December 5, 1983 in Canada but moved back to Ghana along with her parents in 1993. Jackie who was a runner up at the Talent Teens Competition started acting at the age of 12 in her local church group. Their performances mostly demonstrated the Christian way of addressing and approaching the public. However, her professional acting career began when she was cast as Enyonam Blagogee in the TV series Things We Do for Love.

Following her onscreen debut Jackie went on to create a successful acting career including starring in the smash hit movie Beyoncé alongside prominent Ghanaian actors Van Vicker and Nadia Buari, quickly establishing herself as an A lister.

Jackie’s face has graced many billboards and magazines. Jackie has also cashed in on her A list status as she has endorsed many products and was the spokes person for AID/HIV awareness campaign in Ghana. She has won numerous awards, including a prestigious Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) for best supporting actress in 2007. Jackie hopes to study Entertainment Law or Media Law.

Joseph Fiifi Van Vicker’s Biography

Joseph Fiifi Van Vicker was born August 1, 1977 to a Ghanaian/Liberian mother and a Dutch father. He lost his father at the tender age of six; as a result he developed a very close relationship with his mother, whom he calls his hero.

Van Vicker attended Mfantsipim Secondary School in Cape Coast. He made his first onscreen appearance in the TV series Sun City, in which he was cast as LeRoy King, Jr. His first movie was Divine Love where he played a supporting role, however, it was his role as male romantic lead in the movie Beyoncé that instantly established him as a star actor. He has starred in over twenty movies so far. Van Vicker is a multi award winner these include a GMA for best male actor 2006, Best Male Actor, 2007 1st DJ Awards, Bronx, NY (honouree), Annual Movie Awards, NY (honouree) Best Male Actor and was nominated for Best Lead Actor and Best Upcoming Actor at the 2008 Africa Movie Academy Awards. In addition to acting, he runs an advertising agency and event management company and unisex barber shop. He has also set up a foundation, the Van Vicker Foundation which reaches out to up and coming actors/actresses.

Akosua Busia

Akosua Busia is a Ghanaian actress based in the United States.

The daughter of Kofi Abrefa Busia, the ex-prime minister of the Republic of Ghana, Akosua is a princess of the royal family of Wenchi, a subgroup of the Ashanti. She was educated at the University of Oxford, England.

Her film roles include a notable performance as Nettie in Steven Spielberg’s The Color Purple (1985), and as Patience in Antoine Fuqua’s Tears of the Sun (2003). In 1994 she married the American film-maker John Singleton, with whom she has a daughter Hader. They divorced in 1997.

Akosua has written The Seasons of Beento Blackbird: A Novel (Washington Square Press, 1997). In addition, she was one of three writers who co-wrote the screenplay adaptation of Toni Morrison’s novel, Beloved, for the 1998 film directed by Jonathan Demme. Her sister is the poet and academic Abena Busia.
